Ferry Nuweiba to Aqaba

It is possible to travel from Egypt to Jordan by sea across the Gulf of Aqaba between Nuweiba (Egypt ) and Aqaba (Jordan).

Travellers can choose between AB Maritime whch operate both fast and slow ferries (including car ferries), and the brand new Meenagate company operating the Babel high speed catamaran.

Meenagate operate a daily ferry service in both directions.

Nuweiba – Aqaba: departure 6:00 am. Clients needs to be at the port at 5:00 am (be their one hour in advance)

Aqaba-Nuweiba: departure 6.30 pm Clients needs to be at the port at 6 pm (be their half hour in advance)

Round Trip Nuweiba-Aqaba-Nuweiba: Adult $ 125 / Child $ 100

Round Trip Aqaba-Nuweiba-Aqaba: Adult $ 120 / Child $ 95 one way

Nuweiba – Aqaba: Adult $ 85/ Child $ 70

Aqaba-Nuweiba: Adult $ 80 / Child $ 65 Infants younger than 3 are free.

Prices include all Marine fees, departure tax Egypt, soft drink and croissant on board. Exclude departure tax Jordan (JD 8).

Booking

Tickets must be booked at least 24 hours in advance to guarentee a seat. Travellers will need to fax/email passport copy. Tickets can then be collected either at the harbour or at the Meenagate offices in Nuweiba.

Be sure to arrive at either port at least two hours early and be prepared for delays at either end. Cancellations are not uncommon due to bad weather and it’s best to avoid travelling during holidays and pilgrimage times when thousands head to the port on route to Saudi Arabia.
