June in Egypt
Weather and Temperatures
June is the last month of tolerably hot weather in the south of the country, before the Egyptians start the mass exodus to the northern beaches.
It’s still a fine time to visit the country if you can cope with sightseeing in temperatures upwards of 26 ̊ C, otherwise more sensitive visitors should consider coming to Egypt earlier or later in the year.
For beach resorts the weather is still spectacular and the sea breeze more than takes the edge off the heat.
The north of the country in and around the Nile Delta is typically cooler than the south of the country with temperatures in Cairo ranging from between 17-33 ̊ C, and in Alexandria between 18-26 ̊ C. The southern Nile valley around Aswan is more oppressive with temperatures of 23-39 ̊ C.
In Hurghada temperatures range between 21-30 ̊ C and Sharm El Sheikh enjoys temperatures of between 26-37 C.
